Mandan Soccer Club

MSC Financial Hardship Application 2024

Welcome

Welcome

Before submitting a Scholarship Application you are required to read and accept the Scholarship Guidelines. Please read carefully.

It is the intent of the Mandan Soccer Club to provide a competitive soccer experience for all interested youth regardless of socioeconomic status. A need based scholarship program has been established to help those families with players who might not otherwise be able to afford club fees. A limited amount of scholarships are available to those who qualify.

Guidelines governing the Scholarship program:

  1. Consideration for a scholarship requires the submission of an application through our website NO LATER THAN midnight on the last day of regular registration.
  2. The club does not currently require detailed financial reporting from the parent(s) / guardians(s) of players seeking scholarship assistance. However, scholarships are reserved for those players whose families are known to be experiencing financial difficulty. To be eligible for scholarship consideration, the need for financial assist must be shown. In order to show this, you may use any of the following to provide proof of financial need:
    • Current year award letter for free or reduced lunch through your school district,
    • Documentation showing current benefits for any of the following: Medicaid, SNAP, Housing assistance, or
    • Household tax statements showing proof of financial need (federal poverty level will be used as determining factor).
    • If your player does not qualify under the financial necessity, but you feel you have a need for a scholarship, you may submit an application for consideration. Note, however, player's showing financial need will get first priority in receiving scholarship funds available. This application must include a summary of why your player needs the scholarship.
  3. Scholarships are limited.
  4. For returning players, the coach may be contacted to confirm player commitment and attendance the previous year before a scholarship can be awarded.
  5. Parents/guardians of scholarship recipients will be required to provide a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer service during the season. Proof of volunteer service will be required for consideration for future scholarship assistance. Failure to complete volunteer service could result in the player’s scholarship being deactivated.
  6. Scholarships will be awarded for 1 season only. Players requiring scholarships for additional seasons need to reapply each season.
  7. Scholarships can cover registration and/or tournament fees. They may cover half or all of these fees. The recipients are responsible to pay for uniform fees and all equipment needs.
